Hang Tyme

Basketball has led to many amazing experiences and taught me a lot. People are never surprised when I tell them I play basketball, as it has very much become part of what who I am. Whilst basketball has high levels of participation, in the UK funding has never been a priority.

Five Wealth’s sponsorship will allow me to continue to compete at the highest level and represent a club with a vast history of success and more importantly supporting their surrounding community.

Whilst Division One is a semi-professional league, the league would not be possible without the support of its many volunteers, fans, and sponsors. Like Five Wealth, Bradford Dragon’s pride themselves on empowering individuals and understand the importance of each member of the club/team, to ensure the best outcomes for the company/club.’

Bradford tipped off the Lynch Trophy on Saturday 9th October 2020, with a win against Team Newcastle. Game recaps, along with a recording of all the games from the weekend can be found on the England Basketball website linked below:

https://www.basketballengland.co.uk/news/l-lynch-trophy-week-1-preview/

Bradford have since won their second game of the trophy against Myerscough, securing themselves a place in the quarter finals, with their final game of the group stages scheduled for Saturday 14th November against Derby Trailblazers. The winner will finish top of the table and secure home court advantage for the quarter finals.

‘For anyone who has not watched a basketball game, I strongly recommend going to one if you get the chance. Sporting fan or not, I am yet to meet someone who has been disappointed for doing so.

I cannot thank everyone at Five Wealth enough for the positive, supportive environment they have created within the firm and for truly taking an interest in me as an individual.

The league is due to start at the beginning of November. Further details can be found on the England Basketball and/or Bradford Dragons websites.

Five Wealth Introduction to Finance Event

Following the success of Five Wealth’s Next Gen Seminar in December 2019, we will be hosting another event in August for those who missed out. However, this time things will be a little different. Given the current social distancing rules, the Five Wealth Introduction to Finance event will be completely online and will take place over 4 days. With 1 session per day beginning on the week commencing 17th August. Each session will start at 11:00am and will be approximately half an hour.

The event is again being run by Jordan, Liz, Tom and Tyme, and the objective is to give an overview of the areas of finance we believe are key for long term financial wellbeing and financial decision making.

The content will be tailored towards young adults but will cover topics that are relevant to all ages. The following topics will be covered:

We understand that some of the sessions will be more relevant to some than others, and therefore attendance is not required at every session. However, we would recommend attending as many sessions as possible in order to get the most out of the week.

If this is something that maybe of interest to yourself or someone that you know, then please email Tom at Tommitchell@fivewealth.co.uk for further details and/or to be added to the invite list.

As always, we hope you are keeping well and best wishes from everyone at Five Wealth.

Rick achieves Chartered status!

Posted on: May 26th, 2020 by fwAdmin

I’m extremely pleased to announce that I have achieved Chartered Financial Planner status, having completed the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.

When I first joined Five Wealth from the banking sector, the prospect of spending weekends and evenings revising for exams when a lot of my friends had already completed their professional qualifications was hardly one I was enthralled by! However, having a professional qualification I could stand behind and which would provide the framework for developing my knowledge was one of the key attractions of the industry, an industry which is continuously pushing its standards and culture of self-improvement.

Whilst exams and qualifications are no substitute for experience, attaining Chartered status should give clients confidence in my technical knowledge and shows a dedication to professional standards. I’m lucky to work with certain colleagues who have 30+ years of industry experience, but even they are constantly learning through their own desire to remain market leaders in terms of quality of advice and technical expertise.

Continuous Professional Development is an FCA requirement for advisers and the learning never stops, however I will admit I’m looking forward to an exam free stretch!

Five Wealth – Next Gen Seminar

Posted on: January 7th, 2020 by fwAdmin

Five Wealth – Next Gen Seminar

On the 23rd December we were proud to host our first Five Wealth Next Generation Seminar. The objective of the seminar was to introduce some of the key areas of finance to our clients’ children in order to prepare them for future financial decision making and long-term financial success. The seminar was prepared and presented by five of our Financial Planning Managers and covered areas such as Budgeting, Saving, Debt, Inflation and Investing. The attendees also had the option of choosing between three breakout sessions depending on their age and circumstances, these covered: University, Early Careers and First Time House Buyers.

Despite the late December date, the event was well attended and received lots of positive feedback from attendees. We are very happy with how the event ran and look forward to hosting it again in Summer this year.

Five Wealth & Manchester Rugby Club

Posted on: October 30th, 2019 by fwAdmin

Those who work with me will know that I regularly sacrifice my weekends and evenings to training and playing for Manchester Rugby Club (as well as the odd resulting trip to A&E). I’m also involved in the running of the club through my role as Club Captain and I’m therefore delighted to announce Five Wealth as a new sponsor for the 2019/20 season.

Five Wealth’s sponsorship will help develop a club with a rich history of heritage and tradition, being one of the founding members of the RFU. The club currently has 3 men’s senior teams, a longstanding women’s team and a huge Minis and Juniors section. Manchester are currently receiving much welcome exposure as former Mini and Junior player Ben Spencer has been flown out to Japan to represent England in the World Cup final!

I don’t think it’s too tenuous a link to say that one of the key reasons I enjoy both working for Five Wealth and playing for Manchester is the team aspect and how everyone works together at both institutions.

Even the casual rugby fan watching the current World Cup will appreciate how critical it for every cog to be working to keep the teams performing at the highest level. Those who have been following England will note that Owen Farrell couldn’t take the headlines for his defence splitting passes and pinpoint kicking without Tom Curry and Sam Underhill putting in tireless graft all over the pitch. The forwards and backs both need to be successful in their own roles for a team to put in a complete performance.

In much the same way, Five Wealth is led by a Board of Directors with over 100 years’ industry experience, but is built upon a team of staff consisting of advisers, paraplanners, administrators and investment specialists. Whilst our advisers are at the centre of the financial planning relationship with our clients, they are supported by highly qualified personnel who each bring their own set of skills and technical knowledge. Whether it be performing analysis on regulatory changes, liaising with product providers, carrying out cash flow modelling, sitting down with the clients, or any number of other tasks, everyone at Five Wealth is working together to ultimately ensure the service we provide is one we can be proud of.

Manchester’s 1st XV are currently vying for promotion from the North 2 West league and everyone at Five Wealth wishes them the best of luck for the remainder of the season.

Five Wealth Graduate Programme

Five Wealth Graduate Recruitment

Here at Five Wealth we look to partner with the local universities (The University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University) as part of their graduate recruitment programmes and look to offer a position to an individual (or two) each year. This is generally for a 12 month internship, with the prospect of a full-time position and future career for the right candidate – within our office we currently have 4 individuals who started with us as part of this process in our full-time advising/paraplanning team and have recently taken on our latest intern. As a growing company we have found this to be an extremely valuable process, accessing strong candidates from the local area with a strong level of enthusiasm for the financial services industry.

In order to provide some more information on the company and the programme we offer, we have teamed up with the careers service at The University of Manchester to produce a video….take a look!

Five Wealth gets baking for Mustard Tree

Posted on: September 4th, 2018 by fwAdmin

Great day yesterday as Five Wealth put on a cake sale to support our corporate charity, Mustard Tree. Our super bakers prepared a fantastic selection of treats to tempt our fellow residents and raised £171 in the process. A big thank you to all our bakers and special mention to Angelica Rothwell for leading the day.
